Great hotel that is a fully renovated and refurbished space that oozes speakeasy vibes in the converted vaults and now with the addition of Terrae it is a MUST DO for anyone going through Bendigoor even if you are local - treat yourself.
We stayed at Hotel Ernest for one night while in town to visit the Bendigo Art Gallery. The hotel itself has a lovely calm feel, and the room we stayed in (after receiving a welcome complimentary upgrade) was spacious and restful. I particularly appreciated the Fellows Stag temperature controlled hot water kettle, and the Belkin 3-in-1 bedside charging pad. There was a spa in the bathroom, but we didn’t use it. We would happily stay there again.
Slight glitch with my room as guest above sadly led to creaking floorboards BUT... the customer liaison officer of front of house, Lavena, was just wonderful. She was so engaging and willing to be of any help at all... wonderful old school service which is so sadly lacking these days. Bravo Lavena, you did both yourself and the hotel proud. Wonderful.
