We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Coolidge! The antique look and rustic feel of the hotel was extremely warm and inviting. The room we had was very spacious and cozy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every aspect, they also price matched an offer we had originally been quoted while booking our room. I adored the fact that this hotel did NOT have a "commercial" feel to it, and offered a little piece of Vermont history while staying there. We Sincerely wanted to luv this place, like others we try to go local vs chains when traveling, and I picked this hotel over other cheaper options. The good: friendly staff, nostalgic vibe, generous room size, walkable location to a small block +/- of shops etc The bad: so many little things that just needed some attention to be better than they were, I know it's an antique but things like rusty tap water when you brush your teeth can really take the charm away quickly, I hate to criticize but sharing our experience honestly... read more
Was not what we expected. Extremely noisy throughout the night, hard to sleep.
My friend and I spontaneously decided to go to Vermont this weekend. I just happened to find Hotel Coolidge on Priceline for a great deal so I booked it! I also called to ask a few questions and the woman at the front desk was very friendly and we had a nice little chat over our NC connection! I didn't see anything shown in these pictures during our stay. The Hotel offers no food at all, and can't even make change when you want to use their soda machine. The desk staff is snooty, the surroundings are spooky, and the atmosphere is surreal. That said, the hotel is clean, rooms are large and well maintained, with beautiful antiques and comfortable beds.
Loved our stay! My daughter and I were on our February break tour of colleges - and staying at the Coolidge was one of the highlights of our trip. Evening manager was truly kind, we had gotten some take out and forgotten to ask for flatware. He mentioned the kitchen in the hostel portion of the hotel. We had our take out, went back to the kitchen and did our dishes. Gave my daughter a chance to see the youth hostel - and introduce that idea to her. Very cool.
