RecommendedLovely place to visit, my wife and I met on a church retreat trip. It was back in fall of 2000 Columbus Day weekend. David Briggs was great and he made our group feel like family. A place to visit for sure.

It's an old school hotel with lots of character, from the sofas and chairs scattered about, to the lobby fireplace, and the high ceilings and original woodwork. A true classic. If you like your buildings with history, this is the hotel for you. Comfortable and affordable, too. Convenient to Hanover and Dartmouth as well as central VT and NH attractions. Also, great bars and restaurants in the surrounding blocks, and a vibrant arts community during the day. Well worth the visit!
Four of us stayed there one night end it suited us perfectly. For those complaining that it’s old, that’s right, it’s an historic hotel that has big rooms, large halls, historical pictures throughout, has nice staff, offers a nice discount at adjoining cafe and is in a nice downtown location. Great bargain. We will stay again when we visit that way.

This hotel is out dated! It smells like mildew! The locks on the doors are cheap that you can pretty much push open The room was ice cold
