Always fantastic food here and wonderful service. Roasted brussel sprouts, jumbalaya fried rice and hot fried chicken are faves! You can't go wrong at Hot Joy.
Tonight was our second time. The food doesn’t disappoint, everything is so tasty. We had a reservation for one of the booths, when we were seated our waitress started off by telling us the food items that we couldn’t have because their preparation was behind due to staff being late and certain items weren’t ready.. her words. I have worked in restaurants for many years and I have never seen staff like this in SA. It’s almost like they come from another world. They are very unfriendly, not helpful, the bartenders look like they hate their jobs, the drinks are way over priced, and they do nothing to try to offer suggestions to new comers. We ate around at some highly rated restaurants during our vacation in San Antonio, but Hot Joy was by far my favorite. We ate the bar. The bartenders were super friendly. The atmosphere is really fun. We had some appetizers which were great, but the noodles. Oh man the Pork Barbecue Dan Dan Noodles. If I actually lived in San Antonio, I might eat these every day. Amazing stuff guys. I hope to come back and try some more of your delicious food.
