My mom has just lost her battle with cancer. Over the past 4 months the hospice crew has worked hard and tirelessly to make her every moment better and to help us both get through this with grace and the minimum of trouble. I can't stress enough how amazing and vital hospice has been during this terrible time. From the receptionists to the social workers, triage nurse, and all, every hospice member has gone above and beyond for my family in our time of need. I am eternally grateful.

My husband was enrolled in Hospice of Humboldt twice. His first enrollment ended abruptly when they discharged him unexpectedly. The discharge process took place over the course of a multi-day power outage, during the worst week my husband had had since being enrolled. The staff told me, repeatedly, that their medical director had found my husband to be “too perky” for hospice during the recertification exam, which had been conducted at their facility two weeks prior. We just recently needed the services of Hospice of Humboldt and though my mother in law's journey was not short, we were fortunate to have them guide us through a difficult time. They were always available for questions or advice. This organization is a true asset to the people of Humboldt County!
