Care takers and nurses have no idea what they are doing. We had an over night caretaker who sat on her phone and slept the whole time. She had no idea how to do common things like change my mom (which is what she was hired for). Our nurse was 3 hours late when we told him it was an emergency. We were told he was prescribing medicine as soon as he left, it took him 5 hours to prescribe medicine needed asap. My mother died in excruciating pain because of this nurses unwillingness to do a common task. Do not recommend.
Terrible place for my Dad to pass away, I was not allowed to give my blessing to my Dad when I rushed to the Chrisopher House after receiving a phone call that my Dad passed away. My mom and I had pre-arranged a blessing service for my Dad's passing. The social worker at the Christopher house promised that we would have a few hours of chanting and blessing right after my Dad's last breath. End stages of a dementia diagnosis are extremely stressful for both the patient and family members. Your staff helped to ease some of that difficulty. All of your staff from nurses to aides, social workers to chaplains as well as physicians should a great deal of caring and compassion. I will always be grateful to Hospice Austin for you care of us.
Thank you for your story about the beautiful 15 year old girl who had the best day ever,her favorite band comes to see and sing with her was the best video ever. May she rest in Jesus arms and my condolences go to her family and friends and thank you nurses at the facility who took care of this beautiful precious angel for 9 months and all you do with everybody else what you guys do is a blessing to all of us.
Chirtopher House (Hospice Austin) is a magical place. It is loving, peaceful, serene, and reassuring. In fact it is so perfect that I can only hope to be there or in a similar place when it will be my turn.
