Good Value – It's pretty hard to find a place that gives high quality cuts for guy hair (um, that's receding a bit) - cuts that look flattering, hip, and grow out really well - for less than $50 in NY. If you're like me and hate bothering getting you're hair cut, it helps to find a place that can cut it so well it still looks good after 3-5 months. exquisite attention – I made an appt. @ Hoshi Coup II this Sunday @ 5:45pm. I was there on time and was received by Akemi who was to cut my hair. She began with a long shampoo as my hair was a mess and this was extremely relaxing. Initially, she had a lady translating when I sat down, she asked what I was looking for and how do I usually cut my hair and how long since my last cut? Hoshi Coupe SOHO - watch your color!! – "Be afraid, be very, very afraid. DO NOT let TAKA go near your hair with a bottle of color. I went in for a simple root touch up, so I thought. I have dark brunette hair, and left with bright red roots - lighter than my dark brunette - how did he pull that off? I went immediately to a salon around the corner on West Broadway, where they could see my roots while I was waiting on the sofa.. They fixed it perfectly - but Hoshi Coupe - needs to manage their colorists. This was OUTRAGEOUS!"

so-so stylist and attitude problem – I had my first experience with Hoshi Coupe (II) couple of days ago. I've always had a above average standard for hair and I have to say my stylist was very average to the point I had to stop her several times during the cut to communicate her. another problem I had with them was their attitude problem, i was asked to 'clean' my seat because I left a magazine on the chair while paying for my haircut (they dont accept Credit card). hair nightmare – They don't listen to a thing you say and cut it their way. Impossible to communicate with them in English. They are polite nod and then give you a lousy haircut.

Kana gave me a great haircut! – Got the best haircut of my life today, courtesy of Kana. She is amazing. I left feeling like I'd lost 10 lbs and couldn't stop touching my hair. Kana was very focused (read: no chit-chat) and did a beautiful job. Hoshi Coupe: Thank you!

speak Japanese and expect thinner hair – They will thin out your hair even if you ask them not too!! they are really good at asian haircuts, but that's really the only way and hair that they know how to cut.
