Best vets in Dallas For more than 15 years we have taken our pets to Holt. The doctors there have treated our dogs and two cats with the utmost care and consideration. The doctors are highly qualified and experienced and listen to us. We have dealt with several doctors on the staff at Holt and all have been excellent. When Bonkers, our long time family dog, had to be put down at the age of 17 the entire staff was caring and professional. All of our pets receive annual physicals and innoculations from Holt to keep them in the... read more

Picked up my dogs today from Camp Holt I travel a lot for both business and pleasure. My dogs always stay at Camp Holt, sometimes for a weekend, sometimes for a week. Each dog has its own indoor cage and outdoor run. When I drop them off, both dogs always charge to the back barking all the while (that's why we call the place Camp Holt). When they get home, they usually sleep for about 24 hrs because they're so tired from all the running and barking. Today, I noticed that my younger female had a little scratch on her nose whe... read more

Happy with Holt I've been a long time customer for nearly thirty years. Recently, Dr Baxter met me before hours to treat my dog's bloody diarrhea. I was panicky but Baxter calmly reassured me. Tests were normal and I took her home at lunchtime. Dr. Baxter called me 3 days later to ask about her condition. I told him that both patients--dog and man--were fine. You can't beat this level of service and compassion.

Don't board here! We boarded our two dogs here for four days, and when we picked them up, they were wet and horribly stinky. Our usually friendly adult female was completely cowered to the ground in fear, and our puppy was bouncing off the walls like this was her first time out in four days. We would strongly recommend you do not board your animals here... ours would have been better left home alone!

Fixed broken leg My father is unwell and on a fixed income. His dog recently broke its leg when hit by a car. Dad could not afford the near-1000 dollars for the surgery, so we told the vets at Holt that we would have to put Buster to sleep. The vets conferred and offered to fix his leg for much less as a "teaching experience" whereby the senior vet (Dr Baxter, I believe) mentored the younger vet while doing the surgery together. Buster was given antibiotics and pain medicine, and Dr. Bratton discharged Dad's dog with both wr... read more

Bad Clinic------------Report We took our cat to Holt Clinic--Dr. Baxter---He charged us an enormous amount of money for NOT treating our cat. Gave us penicillin and said he should have pulled his teeth. Well he did not, so we gave our precious pet the medicine, to no avail. We called in for a refill and was charged + extra amount. He did not even serve the proper diagnosis for our cat. In the meantime, our cat got worse, so we took it to a different vet, whom we LOVE. DO NOT GO TO HOLT CLINIC, EVER..THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT AN... read more

The Most Caring Compassionate people on the planet! This is a fantastic veterinary clinic. I have an eight year old chow-chow and a five year old chow-chow. My roommate has a 110 lb. black lab/german shepard mix. These veterinarians are patient and amazing people. The do not stereotype my chow-chows because of their breeds (my dogs are very well socialized). Additionally, I once found a stray dog and brought him in. It was a Saturday and the animal shelter was closed. There was no where else to take this dog, who was pretty ... read more

Great Vet Clinic I just recently took my cat in for her yearly shots. This was my first time to go to Holt since moving to Dallas. The staff and the doctor that we saw were extremely nice. He was very gentle when giving my cat her injections and he allowed me to ask any questions that I may of had. It sure is comforting to know that I have a vet who makes me feel like I am still at home. I will be sure to let all my friends know about Holt. PROS: Great service, caring, knowledgable, and affordable CONS: None

Holt Veterinary Clinic is a top notch lover of animals. This animal clinic has been a pleasure to take my cats to for their shots and care. The staff is very knowledgeable and nurturing with the animals and very understanding when a pet dies. I really appreciated the sympathy card.
