I am the mother of a recent patient. Although I never entered, I can’t begin to express my appreciation for the wonderful staff that I encountered. From admission staff to counseling, I was treated with compassion and caring. It’s difficult being the mother of a patient there, but the staff continually supported me with true concern and empathy...sometimes identifying themselves as a mother too! From the switchboard operator, to the financial office to all the staff on the inpatient side of the hospital, they should all be fired immediately and replaced by actual human beings. To say they are rude and nasty is an understatement. They seem to delight in traumatizing patients who are already mentally fragile. My wife was mistreated twice at this place and while there, she saw another patient receive the same deplorable treatment. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO TO COMPLAIN TO ABOUT HOLLY HILL, READ UNTIL THE END. I was hospitalized at Holly Hill Hospital early December 2020 for depression. From a 7 hour wait in admissions where it was filthy and trash was overflowing, to waiting 27 hrs to talk to a dismissive MD (Dr Wang) who only asked me 3 questions/2 min evaluation, and 44 hrs before I was able to talk to a Nurse about meds, this place is HORRIBLE! I typically never do this, but as a truly invested parent in my child's recovery, I am going to post this as many times as I possibly can. Day 1 Intake: I ensured my child had a week's worth of clothing hand-delivered by 2 pm day of intake. They did not give him his belonging until the next morning. Day 3 my child was transported and reassigned to another ward without my content OR notification. Awful just awful! They didn't believe a word I said. I had a traumatic brain injury I was not mentally ill. Most of the patients are felons and addicts. The staff delayed my treatment for my brain injury. The psych doctor sees you on a computer and rushes the visit. Its all about the dollar! The coffee machine was covered in ants. The A/C went out and no fans were provided. Patients were sleeping on the floor in the hall. A patient freaked out and was throwing computers and we were left to fend for ourselves.
