The land the brothers farm originated from a land grant to the Holdens' ancestors, the Brooks Family, from King George the 2nd in 1756. The Holdens' ancestors have been farming the land for over two hundred years, earning it the distinction of being a Bicentennial Farm. It is the 9th oldest farm in North Carolina that has remained in the same family. Prior to 1984 the land was predominately used to grow tobacco. RecommendedHolden Brothers Farmers Market is always our favorite place. It’s our Spring Break tradition to pick yummy strawberries each year. Everyone is always so nice and the guy that drives the tractor is the best. Amazing with kids of all ages and always offers to take a family picture for us.

I feel that my uncles experience should be told. He is older and handicapped, clearly walks with difficulty. He went to Holden Brothers Farm Market and spent sixty dollars on tomatoes , okra and sweet potatoes . He asked if someone could pick a few green tomatoes for him and he was told if he couldn’t pick them then oh well, they didn’t have anyone to pick. He’s handicapped!!! You should be ashamed !
