Mystical art adorns the walls of this health-nut paradise that has been taking care of Houston hearts for many years. Those with artistic spirits are particularly attracted to the somewhat Bohemian atmosphere. Outside dining on a shady deck is extremely popular in fair weather. A few unhealthy menu options are available such as a hefty hamburger—but vegetarian choices like the spinach and mushroom enchiladas are the true crowd-pleasing items. fun atmosphere, delicious food. Been coming here since the 70’s when it was only sandwiches in a tiny place on shepherd.
Great place for dogs too!! I had a super Mother’s Day there with my family!!
Cool restaurant/cafe in midtown. Has been in business 47 years. used to be the Hobbit Hole on S. Shepherd. Good variety of dishes and drinks. Very unique. The first time I went was around 1978.
Just left the hobbit cafe- was seated for 35 mins didn’t so much as have a someone come to my table to order drinks. Several guests who were seated after us, were served and had their food orders taken. So sad. Was once my favorite place. Did you lose a customer? Forever? Guess you’ll have to wait.
It was a cool experience. They have a very diverse menu with great options. I was not a fan of the sandwich with Egg Salad and Guacamole. There was a ton I still wanna try and the curry chicken is good as well as the pecan pie. Great vibe and cool novelty.
Decor is amazing and the food is great! Service is also great! Christian is a wonderful server. Very helpful.
Great lamb and buffalo burgers. Bell’s cream stout from MI. We enjoyed it very much.
As you can imagine it’s based on the Hobbits from LOTR (and the Hobbit books. Very good food, good beer selection and I hear an amazing brunch.
Hobbit Cafe has a 4.5 star rating with 4,815 reviews.
