I have visited the ER at Hoag Hospital multiple times due to severe pain, and my experience has been extremely frustrating and concerning. During several visits, I was in significant pain, yet no clear diagnosis was made. Each time, I was simply given pain medication and sent home without answers. I went to hoag hospital in Irvine on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 for treatment due to a blood disorder that Ive had all my life, (sickle-cell thalassemia) 3 days into my stay Dr. Michael Cho, (attending physician) and Dr. Amir Rafizad (pain management) decided to take the IV medication away, which I might add that it was working for my pain, slowly, but it WAS working, and I had expressed that to both of these doctors, and I had also told them that my pain was still severe, to the point where pills were not going to cut it especi... read more

For an emergency department that's not very busy... they sure take their sweet time.. seen two individuals come in with a cheif complaint of chest pain... even they had to wait...
