restaurant was was empty, and service was slow and corned beef was room temperature. This is a place that I will NOT visit again.
RecommendedOur family has dined at this restaurant multiple times, both in the lunch dining room and in the steak house. Lunches are delicious and served quickly. The steaks are, quite frankly, some of the best I’ve ever had. Service is always impeccable!

We started our girls night with dinner at Hitching Post last night and the food was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and the taste was spot on. Our server was sweet and personable. I look forward to our next meal there.

I used to LOVE this place. Very impressive homestyle cooking and delicious food. Today I went, the waitress was very rude, there was a hair in my water and on my plate. They served microwaved sausage and my boyfriend's hashbrowns were cold. We won't be back. I'm very disappointed.

We have eaten there for years and now service is bad, fried chicken no longer good,used to be the best around. Nope won't be back. concerning service, she never came back with coffee refill like she said she would and husband got white meat fried chicken, a thigh and a wing. lol Time before we didn't get dessert included with the meal. Won't be back.
I ate here yesterday for lunch and the food was delicious and the waitress was friendly! I will definitely go again when I go to Abilene again
I unfortunately do not recommend this place. My steak wad way overcooked and one of the thinnest steaks I have ever seen. After we got our meal we never saw the waitress again. No refills, no how is your meal, nothing. We had the bill laid down with our meal so I guess she thought she was done with us. Our order was 1 ribeyes 10oz and a 12 Oz ribeye. Being an individual that has lived around the world, I have eaten at many fine establishments. The Hitching Post is by far in my top 5. The steaks are amazing and cooked to perfection. The service is one of the reasons my friends and I go back week after week. I highly recommend it. They go above and beyond!!
This place is incredible and a great place to bring your family and friends to. The staff is super polite, considerate, and will go above and beyond to make sure your visit and experience is remarkable. They also greeted me back with a warm welcome home as I have been gone for the military for some time. This is without a doubt, a highly recommendable establishment.
