St. Luke's Church is a monolithic Goth-style church that was built in the year 1632 and is one of the oldest surviving churches in the country. Today the church operates as a museum with an interesting collection of ancient period furniture, 17th-century artifacts, as well as the nations oldest organ. The church cemetery also makes for interesting viewing. Hourly tours take you back in time as you enjoy the exquisite intricacies of beautiful colonial architecture and the unique relics on display.

Mrs. Gloria gave our tour and she was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about not only the church but the town as well. She took her time with the tour and it was very relaxed. The church is beautiful and the history is neat.
I love this old church..so much so, I was married here on Oct 6th, 1973 at 4 pm with my reception at my home, Tally-Ho Farms on the James River. The church is a beautiful place to have an intimate wedding. Since I love to paint as an Artist, I return many times to take pictures for my inspiration archives. My family is buried near the pond with the best view of St Lukes. I also enjoy the tours and the history there. My favorite event is the Christmas eve services held there.I always tell travelers to take the tour before the... read more
Our guide Gloria LaBoon was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Definitely worth the visit.
Rich with history. Worth the admission fee for anyone who appreciates the heritage of our state and the beginning years of our nation. Love the little gift shop. Great time to visit is the first weekend in December! Free admission and delicious wassail to enjoy.
We enjoyed an extremely informative tour today with our Guide, John Ericson. Groups or individuals will benefit from learning the history of St. Luke's. Don't miss the opportunity. It is well worth your time.
