The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

Very nice show. Beautiful sets and costumes. Stories were cute and it was nice to have someone there to explain the dances.
We arrived early. We had to wait outside for 45 minutes before they let us in. My wife is older and it was a bit of a hardship for her. Once the show started, we enjoyed it very much. Great dancers and musicians. And very colorful!
Great location they need to improve on the seats too small and too close together my feet hurt after 2 hrs of sitting and I am only 5 feet tall need to have more leg room
I, along with three other people, were at Hippodrome Theater last night to see Swan Lake. We had such a wonderful evening. Excellent! The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the ushers and attendants were so friendly and nice. Loved the architecture and entire feel of the theater. The execution and performance by the State Ballet Theater of Russia was beyond beautiful! I recommend the show to everyone as well as Hippodrome Theater. Saw 'Swan Lake' last night with my Dad (Christmas present)! Hadnt been to the Hippo in over 20 years so first time seeing the renovations! Everything was beautiful! Show was fantastic! Excellent experience! Love spending the evening in the city AND within the halls of such a historic venue! Great job, everybody!
One word beautiful. My fiancée and I saw Swan Lake. It was absolutely beautiful. Can not wait to go back again.
