The Himalaya Restaurant the food really is exceptional and the prices reasonable. First of all, for those culturally sensitive, this is a Pakistani restaurant so the dishes are very similar to Northern Indian cuisine. This means there are lots of goat and lamb choices, biryanis (rice), and kebabs. Good food but not great service. Enjoyed the food although it was a bit pricey. They only have one waiter and are always packed.

On a short trip to Houston.. on my bday.. stopped by this restaurant on a friends suggestion N simply loved it. Though it was super crowded , a table was easy to locate and the food was just yumm! With endless varieties of vegetarian and non vegetarian option, gluten free and vegan options.. Himalaya is one place to stop for all culinary needs :)
I thought I'd reviewed Himalaya before, but in case I haven't... it is a delight. I found out about it from friends while searching for the best Chicken Korma in Houston, and it truly is the best. The Steak Tikka, Garlic Naan, Saag Paneer, Mango Lassi, and all of the desserts are absolutely delicious as well. There is a reason both Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern loved this restaurant, and so have countless reviewers. We had the lamb vindaloo, green curry chicken and chicken tikka masala. All very good. Samosas were exxcellent as was the naan. Owner was very nice and friendly. The place is small and cramped and because I was basically sitting in the isle by front door, he gave me free dessert. Service was very good. Cant wait to return to try other dishes.
This place was sooo good. I’d complain about the service, but in the end, I really didn’t care. I walked out a very happy and full person! We tried the lamb vindaloo, lamb biryani, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable sabzi.
