Terrible service! I was booked through my employer and when I tried to check in they blamed the employer for overbooking the hotel. The lady at the front desk who barely got out of her seat to assist was not helpful. Asked her to help me with a taxi and she told me to call an uber when Hilton was responsible for overbooking its rooms. Absolutely awful experience. Nor did anyone call to let me know ahead of time
As someone who studied at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and currently owns and operates hotels, I always enter new properties with a critical yet hopeful eye. Unfortunately, our recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Pittsburgh left us with mixed emotions—mostly disappointment—because of a series of avoidable missteps that marred what could’ve been a seamless, even enjoyable experience. The hotel is affordable. Location is great. People who worked there were very kind. Parking is affordable and on site (although the ticket scanner to get out of there doesn’t always work). I’m giving 3 stars because the hotel was not very clean. The floors in the lobby area were pretty sticky, the floors in the hotel room itself were covered in stains, and the mattress cover had a weird stain on it.
