This company moved our household from Stafford VA to Fallbrook CA. A tub of items went missing from our shipment and even though extra insurance was purchased, and I was assured that I had 9 months after the delivery to file a claim, the company is refusing to honor a claim which was filed within 60 days. We shipped a car overseas from US to the Middle East. We received. a few quotes for shipping the car in a container. Based on the quotes received we selected Hilldrup. The car was picked up on the scheduled day but did not ship out from the nearby port until more than 3 weeks after it was picked up. No news or follow up was received from Hilldrup regarding the delay until we requested additional information. Our records reflect that the vehicle was picked up on 6/27 in Maryland, and after normal export documentation and title clearance, it departed the origin port on 7/23. Contracted for container move with guaranteed delivery date. Four containers arrived more than a week late and the other three arrived almost two weeks late. Much communication with Hilldrup and United. Communication with United resulted in delay compensation after receiving misinformation from Hilldrup. Boxes lost from cartons sealed at the residence, items from first day's loading delivered on second delivery date. My experience is still ongoing with this horrific move from hell with Hilldrup United. They messed up on many opportunities. Jeff their sales guy first did a 1/2 *** job at quoting what they needed. They were way under-staffed and had to get more supplies twice, the crew trashed my house leaving water bottles, and candy wrappers all over inside and outside. Mayflower made an inherently stressful and expensive situation exponentially more stressful and expensive. I strongly recommend against using them for any move. I used Mayflower to move from Washington, D.C. to Salt Lake City, Utah. It sub-contracted with Alpha/Hilldrup in Stafford, Virginia for my move. They packed my belongings on April 26th, and I was given a window of May 2-10 for delivery in Utah.
