BE AWARE of This Management Company! We were recent tenants of a home in Whitestone Oaks. The landlord/owner resides out of town and uses Hill COUNTRY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT: 4202 Spicewood Springs Rd. Austin Texas. This company took $1,970.00 of our deposit using inflated cost justifications and violated the terms of the lease, by charging for minor issues listed as covered under “Normal Wear and Tear”. We’ve tried repeatedly to discuss this matter and Hill COUNTRY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT has emailed standing firm on the charges... read more
Terrible, terrible company. Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT EVER RENT THROUGH THIS HORRIBLE GROUP! I got a call form my realtor today that this company is stating that we owe $800 in charges for damages to a duplex from 2 years ago and that we can't qualify for rentals in the are till it's cleared up. I paid a deposit. A LARGE deposit for that piece of crap duplex. We moved in to drawers not working right, cabinets with broken baby locks, an oil stained garage floor. It was covered in dust when we moved in and had to be cleaned before I could even cook in the kitchen. It may n... read more
Lee is a good landlord – I like that he is responsive towards repair requests and actually cares about the enjoyment of your home. I would recommend renting from them. Julie Potts was a nightmare, and I would not have renewed my lease if she was still the owner. So glad Lee took over
Crisis and Abuse is neglected – I am not too impressed with Hill Country. Lee seems nice utill there is a real issue. We had our families life in danger due to a mentally ill neighbor. It was laughed off and dismissed by the MGT , Realtor, and personal owner. House is prisitine and better than we recieved it and no thank you or sorry for your troubles, nothing. Just out to take your deposits and screw you over. I find their motives dishonest and messed up. No support, compassion, or decent communication
Lee has been great – I completely agree, after the change in management Lee has been easy to deal with and very responsive. I feel bad that they have to still live with the same reviews as the previous owners. Greg
Much improved! – Out with the old (Julie Potts) and in with the new (Lee and Nancy). The new management is wonderful and very responsive. I have been leasing a home from HCM for several years. Leasing first with the old management which was not the least bit helpful. Since the new owners have taken over my experience has completely changed and is now a very professional and friendly company to do business with. Do not shy away from HCM..they do and excellent job and are easy to work with.
Under New Ownership! – My recent experience with Hill Country Property Mgmt. has been just the opoosite of what is reported below. I found them to be professional, honest and courteous. The company changed hands in March 2010. Potts is gone and the new owners, Lee and Nancy, are great!
Beware Home owners too – This company is not just bad for tenants, but for landlords too. Too bad there is a 0 star rating, I guess 1 will have to do. She is completely dishonest and lacks integrity. Avoid this company at all costs.
Business response:
Julie Potts no longer owns Hill Country Property Management. Lee Reznicek took over the company in 2010 and has significantly improved the relationships between the company and the tenants. Please note that all of the negative reviews are during the time that Julie Potts owned the company. Please contact the new Hill Country Property Management and we'll put you in touch with tenants that can verify the changes and significant improvement due to the new ownership.
