I've lived in Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas city and never found a bakery as good as Highland Park. I will always come home for the champagne cake and the maple frosted rolls! Yum!! My family have been buying from Highland Park bakery since 1964.

Best bakery around! I've been eating there since I was a kid and worked there a year in high school. Unfortunately I'm gluten free now and can't have it. But I highly recommend it to everyone else.
The service is friendly. The pastries are delicious.
Very Good Bakery Items with some of the Best Glazed Donuts in Des Moines. But get there early or You might miss out because they go quick. If You have a Birthday or other Party coming up make sure to get a Champagne Cake from Hiland Bakery. They are Delicious. They will also personalize the Cake for whoever's Birthday that is being Celebrated. I give Hiland Bakery 2 Thumbs Up. I've been going there for years and have never been disappointed. Give them a try, you'll be glad You did.
They have the best donuts in the world especially the ones with the little nuts on top to die for I most definitely will be back again and again and again and again
