I have been going to Highsmith Animal Hospital for over 20 years. They are hands-down the best veterinary office in Wilmington !! They are kind, compassionate, caring and provide top-notch service. We feel very comfortable and secure in all the healthcare our dogs have received in the last 15+ years. Dr. Highsmith and his entire staff are top notch. When there is a serious issue with our dog we don't hesitate to drive 60+ miles from Swansboro.
We have been taking our pets to Dr. Highsmith, and his staff for almost 30 years...and honestly dread when he retires....but, the rest of the staff will surely take care of us.
Highsmith’s animal clinic was recommended by a friend. We don’t mind the drive to wilmington from jacksonville. Love the atmosphere, the staff is all very friendly and welcoming. We are so happy with the vet tech courtney, and dr tayloe!

Took my 9 year old dog to Highsmith this morning with a very bad skin issue that I was afraid that was too bad to be fixed. They got a plan together and medication and said she will be fine very helpful people. will be posting before and after pictures of her progress. Thank you Dr Anderson and all the staff there is very friendly glad to have found a vet that cares will be bring my cat and any animal I have here.
So so happy that my old vet referred me here! Everyone was so friendly and the vet took her time to explain everything. And all the staff came in to visit their new patient.
We’ve been taking our beloved pets to Highsmith Animal Hospital for 20 years now. Everyone we’ve encountered there has been great to work with - the vets, vet techs, front staff and Meg the groomer, they are all wonderful! When your dogs run right in for their checkups, you know it must be a great place 😂
