What a gorgeous place to stay ... with such welcoming & accommodating owners & staff. We booked our next reservation before we even checked out, which should give everyone an idea of how much we enjoyed Highlands Ranch Resort. We'll return in 3 months; already looking forward to it!
This resort is outstanding in every way! We celebrated my sister-in-laws birthday here. The dinner was magnificent, the staff is first class and the lodging is absolutely amazing! We are definitely coming back! Ed Simmons would be so proud that his dream was fulfilled!
Great atmosphere and ambiance with a great fireplace and a very nice meal. Bink had beef short ribs and I had the fish & chips. The proximity to Lassen Volcanic National Park is just great. Rustic elegance with wood and crystals.
I want to come back!!!!! It was our first trip away from our four children in years and well worth the effort of arranging the details at home before we left. We stayed at the Meadow's Edge freestanding cabin. The outdoor hot tub makes the cabin. Simply relaxing and unique. The cabin itself was perfect and the in-floor heat was a special touch! Absolutely amazing dining experience. I can't say enough about this beautiful resort. The people are friendly, fire relaxing, and the food is out of this world. I'm definitely looking forward to our next time.
We stopped in for lunch yesterday and had a lovely meal. The lodge is beautiful and well thought out, and our server Jarrett was friendly and professional. It turned out we even had some friends in common. The food was excellent. We live in nearby Manton, but plan to rent one of the cabins in the future for a mini-cation. My one suggestion would be to include some of our fine local wines on the wine list. Can't wait to go back!
My husband and I celebrated my December Birthday and his upcoming January Birthday with an overnight stay this weekend! Kevin and Wendy...the best Innkeepers and their staff are the most gracious and kind! Thank you for bringing such a special retreat to Northern California!!

My family and I enjoyed Thanksgiving lunch today at the resort. The food and service was superb. The scenery was breath taking.
