My family was on vacation when I became ill. The closest hospital was Highlands - Cashiers Hospital. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very helpful and immediately took me to a holding area with a bed. Within minutes, a nurse and the doctor had come to see me. The staff was so kind and incredibly patient. In the end, I needed to be transferred to a different hospital with a specific specialist, and even that process was smooth. They had made all the nesasary arrangements, which allowed me to rest and recover, as was needed.
My son had a broken arm and the ER doc there was one of the best I've come across. Fantastic with my son 13 yrs old. People friendly and answered any question I had without making you feel like you were taking up his time. I hope if we or I have to ever go back that he will be there to help. The experience from start to finish was great!
This was the first time in my life I've ever been seen in the ER and then admitted to the floor. I was sooo sick! I spent 4 nights there. I was very happy with the staff ranging from the ER to the acute care to the X-Ray department to the dietary staff..... They made me feel very comfortable and well cared for. I am much better now and am very grateful to all of them!
Easy in and out!! Great Doctors and Staff. All in all a good trip to the hospital... If that's possible!
I'd put this hospital up against any hospital any where for the size population it serves!
