They took my $2500 deposit and refused to return it when I advised them I could not move forward with the deal.
Never thought I would be putting in a two star review for our new home because we love the home and the lakefront lot but what has transpired over the past few months is simply unacceptable. Do not buy from Highland homes. We have been trying to get them to fix the drainage in our yard for a year now. They did not follow the drainage plan for the neighborhood and now my yard holds water from June to November during the rainy season. The first repair they tried made it worse. Since then, they have stopped returning phone calls and emails and continue to build the last two homes in the neighborhood so they can be fully out of there. Do not do business with this company.
I’m very disappointed with my experience with Highland Homes. My husband and I entered into a contract to purchase a home at Bradbury Creek Phase 2. We submitted all required documents promptly, including full LLC paperwork by April 1st, and clearly requested closing by April 17th due to our lease expiration. Our experience with Highland Homes was extremely frustrating. We were under contract to buy a home and did everything we were supposed to on time. All documents were submitted early, and we even requested that the closing be done by mid-April due to our lease ending. That request was ignored. We were also told that closing costs were estimated conservatively to avoid surprises, but when the final numbers came in, they were over $6,000 higher than expected.
