Hickory Park is one of my favorite places to go to eat in Ames. I met my daughter there for lunch. The service was great and I was in and out without taking extra time for lunch.
A lot of food for your money – If you head up to Ames and dine at Hickory Park, you won't be going home hungry. If you get a dinner, you will get generous sized portions on a large plate. If you have a sweet tooth, you can order right off your placemat your favorite ice cream treat. The malts are EXCELLENT. It is a bit of drive from Des Moines, but if you are passing through, be sure to stop and eat at Hickory Park, and if you live in Ames, you already know how good it is!
Wonderful Wonderful We walked in the door with 11 people for my Grandmothers 96th Birthday. We were seated right away, Very fast and friendly service. It was a wonderful experience. Thanks
BBQ Heaven – Great food at a reasonable price. Wait staff caters to children making their experience more enjoyable. It does get loud depending on the time of day you go. Always busy, but I have never waited more than 15 minutes.
This is the best BBQ around. – worth the drive. allways busy. great bbq. been to texas and kc and all thru the south cant beat this bbq
Always good fast food! Hickory Park has been a family favorite of our for years. We especially enjoy going there for birthdays as they offer a free birthday dessert and sing to your.....our kids enjoy that! The food is always good and fast and the service prompt and friendly. On the rare occassion we've had any problems (cold food, etc.) it's been promptly and courteously corrected.
Top notch Great food (bbq, sandwiches, large dinner platters, big helpings). Lots of selection. Cheap prices (sandwiches and fries are about $5). Great dessert menu (many kinds of shakes, malts, splits and other ice cream concoctions). Very busy on the weekends and whenever there's a game in town. Lots of college students eat here as well.
A Family Favorite Hickory Park is frequented by someone in our family atleast 2-3 times a month even though it is a one half hour drive. Hickory Park has excellent servers that are very knowledgeable. They are kind and curteous and attentive. Our servers normally anticipate our need for refills. The food is very consistently excellent, and the prices make it even better. We can eat a meal and dessert for less than a meal at a lot of other restaurants. A definite must! You will NOT be disappointed!
Simply The BEST Place to Eat!! Hickory Park has been a favorite in our family for years. Their food is awesome......ok......the BEST!! Affordable too!! Everything on their menu is great. They have a Hickory Sauce that they ad to some of their dishes and WOW......what a taste!!! If you happen to have room for dessert after eating......they have a great menu of ice cream. More things then I can mention in this review!!! If you are ever near by Hickory Park....you gotta stop!!!
