Hospitality is number 1 here. It was immediately warm and welcoming. We also go a free upgrade which was a huge plus. My positive review would have still been the same without it. Mom and pop is the way to go. I will be back time and time again. Great job to this establishment. Y’all couldn’t have done a better job. 10 stars ⭐️ all the way. Can’t wait for the summer to really enjoy everything this place has to offer. Only down side is my boyfriend got athlete's foot there. so I suggest sandals or footwear.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and plan on coming back as often as we can. The owners are super friendly and are a call away if ever you need anything. Beautiful and peaceful, we absolutely love it!!
What a great place to stay! Quiet, private, cozy, welcoming and so friendly. We had everything we needed and felt right at home. We definitely recommend it!
WHAT A WEEKEND! A fantastic cabin; a wonderful live theater; Fiddler on the Roof at the Timberlake Playhouse; Lake Carroll; the Mississippi Palisades state park; live music at the Crooked Roof! Sherry and George made our stay special. Today we went to Lake Le-Aqua-Na state park and Lena Illinois. I love this park of Illinois! It wasn't just somewhere to stay, the Hickory Hideaway and innkeepers Sherry and George made it home and a weekend we won't forget. THANK YOU!
I could not have asked for a more relaxing experience. I was just in the area for a quick hiking weekend so I needed a place to stay for one night. Between the sizeable whirlpool tub and the stargazing from the back deck overlooking a private prairie, I do not recall ever having been more relaxed. I slept with the door open so I could drift to sleep to the soothing sounds (and silence) of nature. I'm definitely planning a return trip in the near future!
