Had an absolutely fantastic experience with Hertz at Halifax cruise Port, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! From the moment I arrived, the Hertz representative was incredibly welcoming, professional, and efficient. The pickup process was seamless, with no delays, everything was right on time, making the start of our trip stress-free. Appalling service on vehicle return. Airport staff were fantastic on pickup and the vehicle was fine but the agreed and contracted return location was shut when we got there and nobody in customer services was prepared to help. We ended up leaving the keys in a shabby box by the office door but there were no instructions to that effect and customer services were adamant that there was no out-of-hours return there. There were wrong. There's a major left hand right hand problem with this part of Hertz.
I can’t actually say for certain what their cars or customer service is like so a 1 star rating may be a little harsh. I do know I booked and prepaid for a car at this location only to show up to see their signs outside on the side walk but the building locked and they were closed at my pick up time of 1pm. Absolute joke of a place...do not rent from there. We booked 5 months in advance and when we showed up at picked up time, they told us they no cars to rent, with some stupid excuse, basically lies for an explanation. We tried multiple times calling and no one ever answered. Absolute garbage.
DO not use them! They will overcharge you. They never answer phones. Worst Hertz service EVER. Hertz corporate should be ashamed
