If I could give zero stars, that would be my rating. I created an online reservation, but about a week later, I cancelled it. Two months afterwards, someone picked up the car on my cancelled reservation. I called Hertz and told three agents that I am not in that city or state renting the car and it was a fraudulent rental. An “accident report” was filled out without our being made aware of the problem, and it took a rediculously long time to get checked out. When we signed the paperwork we thought it was just to check the car out. The clerk, employee number ******, should have informed us about her report. This was highly unprofessional and rude. The car was also not clean inside or outside. There was food stuck in the tray and cup holders which we had to clean. Gross.<br />
Tried to rent a car at the BWI airport. They insisted I do it online, even though I was standing at the service desk talking to an actual person. They called up the next client, so I did reserve a car online….online at the Enterprise rental kiosk two spaces over. I’m sure Hertz didn’t really want my two weeks worth of rental fees.<br />
I had a horrible pick-up experience with this rental. Despite arriving on time for an 8AM reservation, I did not leave with a vehicle until 8:40. As a Gold Member cars are supposed to be ready before arrival. I was second in line. None of the Hertz employees helped customers before 8:20.After dropping off the car the next day, they did not check it in. I had to call to initiate that and close out the rental. I rented one of your vehicles 10/13/2022,And was unaware I'd been given a vehicle with a bad battery. The battery died twice on my family and we had to receive a boost just to get to the hertz to exchange vehicles We missed our reservation and this all could have been avoided. The employees were aware the battery was bad because the key fob had a sticker attached that stated the battery was dead. I will attach the picture. Hertz rented me a car with expired plates. When I noticed upon return and asked for a refund they told me no and renting cars with expired plates is normal and hertz does it all the time. I called costumer service to complain and they only offered a credit, which knowing hertz business practice is to rent cars with expired plates I am not going to use them again. I just wanted a refund.
Have been renting from Hertz for decades and only recently began experiencing issues. Last year, my wife was given a Tucson (less than 2 years old) which began having engine/transmission problems a couple of hours into a long trip. Limped into Salt Lake City hours later where they finally replaced the vehicle. I had a reservation for 9 am this morning and I arrive only to be told that there are no more cars. How is this possible? I've never had this happen to me before and I had to use the car to take a family member to get a medical procedure, as I live in the city and don't have a car. Pls ed an to pick up car on 10/06/22. I was at the store to pick up car at 8.00 am before they opened at Buford Hertz car rental. When they open went in and I was the first one. As soon as the employee looked at the computer screen and told me me I have $30 per day extra. Cause they did not have car which I booked. So , I asked to cancel my reservation.
