My mom and dad used to take me to Herby-K's back in 1955-56. Loved it then and is still the best place to eat!

I was short and bald when I went in BUT after I had the gumbo I immediately grew to 6'2 and had glowing long black hair !! I recommend the chicken & sausage gumbo, side of marinated crab claws & amber bach in a cold schooner !!
Known for their legendary shrimp buster but the gumbo has the best dark rue I've ever tasted and this may sound insane, but if you lightly dip one of their old school thin paddy perfect cheeseburgers in the gumbo with each bite you will experience one of the wonders of the culinary world.

You'd be surprised how many people do that! (We've been told the grilled cheese dipped in the gumbo isn't bad either!)
One of our favorite places! The shrimp buster with a beer in a frozen mug always hits the spot and makes life better.

I love love love Herby K's!!!! have been going there for at least 30 years!!
My husband & I tried Herby-Ks after it was suggested to me. I do not eat seafood (my husband does) so I had the homestyle cheeseburger with onion rings. It was great and perfect portion size. My husband said his food was great! We will be back!!
Awesome place to hang out and leave stuffed! The food alone is worth the trip!!
