Very Talented and specialized.
Not likely to recommend Dr. Gates unless you have unlimited time to wait. I was told he had a cancellation and was scheduled for a 2:45 appointment. At 3:45 I was still waiting - no reason or explanation given, and when I asked how much longer it would be I was met with a shrug. I left, there was obv no emergency, this is just how they schedule. I'll find a doctor who has more respect for patients and their time.
Dr Gates' office is always crowded. It is normal to wait 1-2 hours to see him. When I mentioned to the staff that the wait times were excessive, they became defensive and said "take it up with the doctor." Although he is a good surgeon, his manner is very arrogant He thinks nothing of making his patients sit and wait for hours while he chit chats with his staff. It is disrespectful to patients to make them wait 90 minutes or longer to see the doctor. We have better things to do with our time!
Initail office visit. Staff was friendly, informative and organized. Dr. Gates was awesome, taking the time to explain diagnosis and treatment alternatives. very helpful and comforting. Thx for your professionalism!
I had cubital tunnel release surgery. The entire experience was extremely professional from diagnosis to surgery. Dr. Gates' staff at the surgery center was efficient and thorough. Everyone worked together in a collective spirit that gave me confidence in the outcome. Following surgery, I needed NOTHING for pain. The entire experience was one that instilled tremendous confidence in Dr. Gates and his staff.
He was suppose to remove a carpel tunnel blockage, but failed to do so completely. It has been five months since the surgery, and my wrist still has moderate to severe pain and severe swelling. My wrist never had pain before the surgery. It only was numb. I still wake up with it numb and throbbing. Dr. Gates only removed 50% of the blockage. Plus, he left my hand swollen and infected. His ego seems to get in the way of his ability to care for his patients. He has ruined my hand.
Dr Gates maybe a good Dr, but his social skills and Patient to Dr relationship is deplorable
Post surgery event raised some questions/concern. Dr. Gates made it clear by verbal and non-verbal manner he does not welcome or appreciate any questions. We got the impression that if he is half as good a surgeon as he thinks he is, he must be the best. Maybe so. But his manner needs work.
