An unusual aspect of the Hen House is its poultry name, but quality seafood reputation. While chicken was the featured item during the 1960´s, the Warn brothers expanded the menu to include fresh seafood. The Hen House, with seating for over 400, is now the largest seafood restaurant west of Frederick. We were out driving and leaf peeping! From Clarksburg WV, we had quite a drive! Stopped at the Hen House on Sunday afternoon, and were seated immediately and served so promptly. My husband had the ribs which he devoured (I tasted-delish) and I had the Cheseapeak Chicken and when I ordered the baked Sweet Potato I was informed they were out, so I ordered something else.. Half way thru the chicken, here comes a baked sweet potato as my waitress remembered how much I wanted one! Great service, great food! Will be back!

Young server at 2 oclock Saturday. So great. Look at your cameras. Party of 6. First ones there! This young man was fabulous! !!!!!!!
Everything I had was great (sea food plater) and the crab cake was the best.
I thought it was a nice restaurant until we were seated on the side porch, and other patrons who were already seated outside had 2 dogs with them, at the table, these dogs were in no way service dogs so I don't understand how they were aloud to be in the restaurant, and the worse part is the lab looking dog kept coming over to our table begging for food, Isnt there a law against taking animals into a restaurant??? I also have a dog, and we take her almost everywhere but NEVER would I think to take her in a restaurant.Shame o... read more

We're sorry about your experience. We definitely don't allow animals inside the restaurant, but we do try to accommodate patrons with dogs in our outside seating area. We are animal lovers.
