RecommendedSo grateful for Dr. Jean Dodds and her staff for all they do to keep our dogs healthy! (Especially from over-vaccination, which is an epidemic in our country.) We drive almost two hours each way to make sure our dogs receive the best care. (Dr. Dodds will also do online consultations and work with your vet!) Her website and brain are loaded with information based on real, non-Pharma-funded science. A true, “do no harm” physician. ❤️
Everyone at Hemopet have been kind and compassionate. My 2 year old staffy mix, Jackson, LOVES coming here to see Dr. Kanbe. Everyone working here has a calm presence, and bonus - the room smells like lavender.
They keep a "farm" of greyhounds for blood donations to other dogs. Not sure I'd consider that "holistic" or "humane". This woman hasn't had a vet license in decades.
This is NOT a place you should be supporting. Please do your research! The treatment of the greyhounds is unforgivable and should be closed down immediately!
This place is a captive closed colony blood bank warehouse for 200+ greyhounds. The greyhounds are kept as blood slaves for years. The dogs are lucky if they get an hour or two out of their cages each day. The cages are just big enough to turn around in and they spend 22 hours a day in them. Bled every 10 to 14 days. Humans can't give that often. Imagine a 50 to 75 lb dog robbed of its blood 3 times a month. It's unimaginable! No licensed vet would ever recommend being bled so often.
