The Heimie’s name comes from a long line of tailors who came from Russia in 1917 before the Russian Revolution. Anthony Andler’s great grandfather, Heimie, traveled here with his father, also a master tailor. Heimie set up a tailoring shop in downtown St. Paul in the early 1920’s. After the second World War, Heimie, along with his son Ralph opened their first retail outlet selling ready-to-wear garments and offering tailoring services.
