As a would-be first-time home buyer in 2015, I used Heimer Engineering for the inspection of a new apartment, right before we went into contract. Fortunately, our inspector pointed out that the lower level room being sold to us as a second bedroom was *not* a legal second bedroom because the point of egress was too high and narrow, severely diminishing the potential resell value. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I did not appreciate their inspection and their report took too long to be produced. They are not worth your money or your time.

Most unprofessional company to deal with. A lawyer that use recommended them. The inspector showed up 1/2 hr late. Was rude When I asked questions. When I pointed things out I was told it could be. As inspector getting paid there is no could be . Also never came with tools and flash light. Asked about roofing And sky lights we don't do that. Talked about situation in front of sellers agent . A potential buyer used Heimer for their home inspection for our house. First, I must say that my husband was a contractor, so except for a slightly soiled rug, our house is in impeccable shape. Oh, and maybe we could use kitchen cabinets. Heimer misinformed our buyer stating that there was aluminum wiring throughout the house. The house is wired in copper. Also, the fiberglass oil tank that was installed in 1999 has a 30 year warranty. The inspector advised the purchaser that he might need an oil tank soon. This would be con... read more
