Since 1988 the Avalon Theatre houses the "In the Heart of the Beast - Puppet and Mask Theatre", and has come a long way since it was built in 1937. The theater showcases human emotions through puppets and elaborate costumes and make-up. The place can also be rented for private performances and events. Avalon has a capacity of 300, with viewing galleries and a separate box office.

I know this is a long shot... but worth a try. Me and my best friend, her husband and our friend Jim attended our first Mayday parade in either 1993 or 1994. it was a magical experience. a photographer took several photos of us, one photo in particular was a 'dogpile' on top of my bestie. she on bottom, then me, then the two men... if this sounds like a photo you may have shot, please contact me... I would love to see these photos after all these years. I can provide a photo of us on this day for better ID if needed.
