I have lived in the greater New Orleans area, my whole life. Stopped in to get a king cake, got a strawberry cream cheese, was dry like the Sahara. It isn’t filled there was a thin layer of filing under sugar, so little that, I was asked why would I waste my money on a plain king cake... it wasn’t plain just plain ole nasty. Just received our Queen of Carnival Chocolate Chip Brownie it was awesome
So, Randazzo’s didn’t have any filled king cakes. I called Haydel’s and then drove across town to get a strawberry and cream cheese filled one. Paid for a filled cake- got home and a couple hours later, decide to have some. DRY!!!! NO filling! NASTY! Not sure why people rave over Haydel’s, but I won’t be back! If it wasn’t an hour drive back, I’d bring them their nasty king cake back and ask for my money back. VERY disappointed!!!!
