Ate there yesterday with my family. While the service is slower than some would like, so is the town & I wasn't in any hurry. The chef was very cool, and introduced himself to us. I had the 50/50 burger with is 50 percent ground BACON and 50 percent ground RIBEYE! Sweet Jesus was it good. My arteries are very happy that I do not live in Goliad!
I like the restaurant atmosphere but the food is a hit and miss. This is my fourth time there and one visit it's all very good and the next time food is either cool, over cooked or something is forgotten. Every time I have been there, there are only 2 wait staff and that's if 4 or more patrons are in the restaurant. But wait staff have always been friendly. I don't live in the area, but when we can, we stop there for a meal. It's a small town and I believe they try their best.
Lovely place, in the beautiful town square... enchiladas we're so good. Felt welcome in SE Texas!
Historic and great food. Good old down home cuisine you will love.
