Open in the Rush Street bar district since the 1970s, Hangge-Uppe's patrons visit here to "let it all hang out." The drink of choice seems to be beer, either in a bottle or a pint glass. The atmosphere is a strange mix of sports bar and dance club. This place took my ACTUAL LICENSE and thought it was a fake because it was from a different state. They said to call 911 if I wanted it back with is absurd. In the process of sueing them. Beware that if you are of age you may get your ID taken
Okay. Read some comments on the bouncer(s). It has been like that for awhile but I had not been back in years. Still one of the best places to relive a great past. I just found out however their new computer system does not allow the use of all the great music videos they used to show on the TVs downstairs. That is too bad since that was something they had that very few places could not show. Music still good but the videos will be greatly missed.
With a $10 cover you think you could afford to hire people to keep the place clean. Much better places close by
Stay away from this bar unless you want trouble. Last weekend one of the bouncers kicked me and my girlfriend out because she wouldn't dance with him. We left peacefully, but the bouncer was furious. We went outside and then the bouncer hit her in the face, open palm, but she still went down to the ground. I understand that sometimes it might require force to remove disorderly drunk people, but there is no reason for any worker to hit a girl. Well it’s just the best dance club in Chicago, that’s all there is to it!!! ��
We had a group of people, an everyone had a good time. The only problem was the bouncers tryin to act hard an almost got his ass whooped for talking out of pocket. Once he knew he fucked up he backed down, but one day that bouncer is gomma come across the wrong group.... but the bar an music was awsome...
