I would recommend these people to anybody. My elderly cat and my best friend, Silver became ill unexpectedly and although she died before the service could make it there, they did not charge me at all but were there for me every time I called. I really appreciate their kindness, Emily answered almost all of my calls and she was so sweet. My regret is that I did not make that call or appointment sooner but that is really hard to determine when you just hope they’ll get better. I really cannot praise this group enough. The care team that I initially spoke with took the care to address my pet by name, and waited with me on the phone while I tried to get hold of my husband. They were kind, compassionate, informative, and helpful. When our appointment time came, Dr. Barrow was incredible. I imagine that her job is difficult, but I am so grateful to her and other vets like her. We are so grateful to Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice as they helped us say a beautiful and peaceful goodbye to our 16 yr old puggle. Every interaction we had with them was filled with deep compassion and the utmost in professionalism. We felt truly supported and respected with our timing on this difficult decision. We highly recommend them when your beloved animal companions are ready to say goodbye.
They helped our boy pass so peacefully. I dont know what else to say as we are still heartbroken but they did it quickly and professionally and gave us time to sit with him before and after.
Losing a pet is so difficult, the amazing team was supportive and kind through the entire process. From the initial call to Dr. Carmack’s visit. They answered all of my questions with compassion and made sure I felt heard. My other pets were able to be present as we said goodbye to Nino, who was surrounded by his family in the peace and quiet of our home. If this is an option for you when saying goodbye, I would recommend giving Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice a call.
