Within the first month they had already started improving the place. Everything from new roofs to better lighting around the complex. They had also put brand new carpet down in my apartment which was great. I also loved the brand new appliances they put in my kitchen. They are also expeditious in their renovations and repairs. Overall a great place to live especially if you are military(few miles from Charleston AFB), or a student(about a quarter of a mile from Trident Tech).
I have really enjoyed living at Hampton Oaks. I think the location rocks, the staff are awesome and the maintenance crew is really helpful. I will continue to live here for a while! The grounds are well maintained and clean.
I am a current resident of Hampton Oaks. I really think the location is perfect, its fast to get around to anywhere. The grounds are clean and the staff are friendly and professional. I like living here very much. The rent is super reasonable as well. I recommend this apartment.
I love it here! It's walking distance to my school and all shopping in the area. The apartments are pet friendly so I got to bring my dog with me. I have not had any issues since I moved here in 2012 except for a clogged sink which maintenance came and fixed as soon as I told them about it. I would recommend the place for any students or working person who is looking for convenience and a good price. My neighbors are friendly too. I have had no problems with safety, but there is a bedbug infestation. They have not sent out any information to current residents about an issue, although it is documented in two buildings. There is now a bedbug form in the contract, STAY AWAY! There are also cockroach issues. The office staff puts off an attitude where they blame everything on someone else...the tenant, the pest control company, the maintenance staff...never their fault.
THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST DANGEROUS PLACE IN CHARLESTON, I STRONGLY WARN THAT YOU DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING HERE. MY CAR WAS BROKEN INTO, COSTING ME $300 IN REPAIRS AND $3000 OF WORTH OF PROPERTY WAS STOLEN AND NEVER RECOVERED AND EXACTLY A WEEK LATER I WAS BEATEN AND ROBBED WITH CASH TAKEN. THE MANAGEMENT STAFF WILL LIE TO YOU AND FABRICATE ANY STORY TO JUSTIFY NOT GIVING BACK YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL DO ANYTHING.
