I have worked in property management for 10 years and I have been a renter in Bellingham for over 10 years. I have worked with and rented from more than I can count and Hammer has set the bar high. They have been the most responsive for any question, need, and MAINTENANCE request I submitted. My last rental I waiting 6 months for a repair. Nikki and Isaac are wonderful to work with! I couldn’t recommend them enough, or thank them enough for restoring my faith in my local renting market.
edit: after posting this they stopped responding in general. The fire alarm in the garage has been going off every 30 seconds since august... it is now February. Quality service all around, maybe it will be fixed before the end of the lease.
Horrible experience. We are relocating to the area due to a new job and scheduled a late-afternoon showing. There was no communication that multiple parties would be viewing the home at the same time, so it was very surprising to arrive and find other groups already there. More concerning was the behavior of the agent showing the home. Nothing worse than Hammer Properties. They are simply stealing money from college students and nothing stops them. There is no way to stay away from bad property managers in Bellingham, but this can be a warning. Save every email and phone communication with them. Make sure they keep to their word and know your rights as renters. I graduated years ago and no longer live in Bellingham, but I remember very clearly not having a working fridge or heating for nearly an entire month during the winter of 2022.
