About this business
Plain and Fancy was originally built in the 50's and then renamed Dempsey's. It remained Dempsey's until 1993 when it was changed to Ham Fam as everybody called it! In 2005 Ham Fam was totally remodeled and banquet rooms were added for up to 120 people. Reservation are accepted at all times. We have always been family oriented with daily homemade soups, chef specials and desserts. Salad bar available daily till 9 pm - till 2am on Friday/Saturday nights.

RecommendedHubby and I discovered this gem a few weeks back. We have searching for a local diner that doesn't show fox news. So happy we gave the HamFam a chance. The food is excellent. The salad bar cannot be beat, not your normal diner salad bar. The potato and macaroni salads are excellent, homemade indeed. The raspberry vinegret dressing made my hubby smile. went for breakfast. ignored for at least 15 min. 2 waitress on shift. one hostess. not busy. not one of them could offer coffee. the waitress assigned to our table completed ignored us. the other waitress 'shell be right with u". hostess could get a " friend" coffee but not us. many other great breakfast places in the valley to eat at.
Went on 1/2/2018 for the first time with my daughter,husband and grandchildren. It was fabulous.Our waitress (I think her name was Estell) made it so pleasurable.I opted for the soup and salad bar and the rest had the breakfast feast.It was huge,hot and delicious.The salad bar was fresh and had numerous items.We definitely will be returning. I just wish it was closer to Easton.
Was in Allentown at Crum stadium. Needed a place to eat. They are right next to the stadium. Ordered the cheeseburger deluxe. Hit the spot. Cooked just like I like it. Great waitress. Was quick with the order and was extremely friendly. Don’t see that much these days.
I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with my sister Cindy, niece Chrissy and her daughter, Julie (my great niece). My first visit to Cedar Crest College were Julie attends college. Hopefully many more visits to come.
