Hair of the Dog opened its doors in 2006. We are a professional grooming shop dedicated to providing quality grooming with your dog's safety and comfort always in mind. Hair of the Dog groomers have completed a 1-year apprenticeship, are insured, and attend seminars on an ongoing basis. We are active in the rescue community and volunteer our services to local shelters/rescues by grooming homeless dogs free of charge.

Courteous folks and very prompt with pickups. Also took the time to show me some q-tips of gunk from my dogs ears. Explained it was likely from a food allergy and if she had been itching that switching up the protein would likely help. Will definitely be returning!

Sandra is an amazing groomer and animal lover with a heart larger than life. She is constantly donating her time to groom neglected dogs who have entered rescue for a new start at life. It's not often you find someone with so much passion :)
Highly recommend! The owner is truly an animal lover and does so much to help the rescue community. You can leave your dog here and know they are in excellent hands!
I take my Lucy to get her nails cut here. Sandi and Brandi both do a great job being careful not to take too much off that would cause pain and additional fear. They have an uber amount of patience with her which has made it easier each time she goes. I highly recommend Hair of the Dog.
I live in Merriam and Olathe is a little out of my way, but I took my little dog in to have his nails trimmed because of the reputation of the owner. The owner gives a tremendous amount of her time to rescue organizations. An employee, Brandy, trimmed Henry's nails. She was very good with him and even pointed out to me symptoms of a minor medical condition that I hadn't noticed. We will be back.
I came to Hair of the Dog because of their dedication to helping lost and found animals find their way home ...good hearted folks...and also the company they keep (Glenn Golden) My sweet Kip is a rescue and this was his first professional grooming and he did great with Brandy and Sandy...also their prices are very reasonable....I highly recommend them for your fur babies...Gloria Shelton
