Haegele's can't be beat! My family moved from Wissinoming 50 years ago, and we still go back several times a year for Haegele's baked goods. My sister lives in Vermont and when she comes to visit us in NJ twice a year, we make the trip to load up on pineapple cheesecake, jelly sticks, several dozen cinnamon buns, and whatever else strikes our fancy. None better! I grew up with this bakery and though we have moved away my husband (the best in the world) drove down today and got me a birthday cake from Haegele's. He also bought their creme donuts, butter cake, butter cookies and sticky buns. It was all just as I remembered it! This is their 80th year! Go! Buy! Enjoy!
THE BEST-ALL AROUND Okay, so my fiance and I walk into this bakery! We walk in, the smell of goodies just SMACKS you in the face! Believe it or not, that wasn't the best part! We were greeted by a VERY NICE, personable, helpful, courteous LISA!!!! We browsed for a bit, all the while she patiently waited, making small talk. Haegele's Bakery is a neat place to go! This is an exceptional bakery. You walk into the door and the first thing you see are shelves full of baked goods and donuts and cakes and cookies. It is amazing. And, it is CLEAN. Just like the old time bakeries...with really nice people and great tasting baked goods.
The best donuts for donut day! I loved going to Haegele's with my grandmother - she would get the George Washington cake and I, the raspberry twists. We'd go in for one item and come out with bags of goodies. They have the best fastnachts for donut day too! Their staff is friendly and they keep you coming back.
I love Heageles! Hi used to live on Levick Street, right around the corner from Heageles. I love this Bakery. The family is wonderful and they treat all their customers with kindness.Their cakes, sticky buns & cookies are out of this world. I don't live down there anymore but I still drive down to pick up cakes.I would recommend trying their stuff. You won't be disappointed.
best ever I agree with the other review posted b4 mine. I really don't trust having my cakes and desserts done by any other place but haegeles. They work magic on birthday cakes and even wedding cakes. You have to do one thing when you go there to order your cakes and that is to buy a pound of thoose cookies with the sprinkles on them they are the best. Everything they do is great you should try everything twice!
Cute little corner bakery This bakery has the best creme doughnuts in northeast philly! I don't even live in this neighborhood anymore and I still drive down there for all my birthday cakes and other baked goods. The bakery is family owned for many decades. They have delicious sticky buns and cupcakes too. They can custom decorate your kids cake with their favorite character. It's not with that cheesy edible paper, they actually hand design your cake.
