Do your container plants look like they’re kind of thrown together? This could actually be caused by the pots. One of the best things you can do to give containers a planned look is to replace mismatched or crumbling pots with new ones that all fit together.

Sumac is one of the most underrated bushes for providing fall colors on the landscape because most people associate any sumac with poison sumac. The truth is, poison sumac grows in swampy regions. Varieties of non-poison sumac provide brilliant fall colors that range from red to maroon to gold.

Desert plants often grow in accordance with the amount of space that you provide for them. In fact, when they lack adequate space, the plant will often compensate by staying smaller. Remember that if you want large robust plants, give them lots of space to grow into.

Are you looking to give your yard a more romantic feel? Use your garden lighting to create soft shadows or a mystical look. Even better, if you have a water fixture, add plants such as floating lotus that bloom at night.

Did you know that the fall is the best time to plant your garden in desert regions? The moderate temperatures are less stressful on plants, allowing root systems to fully develop before a hot summer.

Attracting butterflies to your garden is easy and fun with the right plants. Draw butterflies to your garden by planting flowers for nectar, plants to lay eggs on, and other plants for the caterpillars to eat. We can help you pick out plants that provide a habitat for all cycles of a butterfly's life.

Desert grasses are different than the grasses found on lawns, and should be treated differently. Instead of watering them when you would water the lawn, water them as often as you would groundcover. And cutting them close to the ground every 1-3 years can help rejuvenate growth.

A mistake that some beginner gardeners make is not reading the label on fertilizers, weed killers, etc. It’s important to read directions carefully to see how much product to use, how and when to apply, what plants it will help, and what pests they control.
