Not worthy of the hype, poor (actually, non-existent) customer service – The title of my review just about says it all. I went to Habitude about two years ago for a neck relief massage. I had a gift card, so was not aware of how much it cost. Let's just say, I would not have paid nearly that much out of my own pocket for what I considered to be a very mediocre massage. Ok- Products are not smell friendly – The ambience, service, and spa quality was faboulous. On the pricey end. I've had masages and facials for less somewhere else and it was better. I did the Massage and the Essential Facial and the Hot Rocks Sauna. It also came with a smoothie that was in the consistency of one of those concentrated minute maid cans that havent been diluted( not very good) . The facial was amazing. High end salon without the high end attitude! – I recently tried Habitude at the locks, a couple of my co workers recommended it to me. I must say I have never received such amazing service before and I absolutely loved my stylists, Melanie. She really helped me with choose a new style that would compliment my coloring. Awesome atmosphere and great talent – I have seen a recent change in Habitude at the locks, and its for the better! The staff has recently become more steady and it seems like they are getting back what they have lost. My stylist, Jennifer, is amazing and she consistently gives me the best cuts and colors I have ever received. The funky atmosphere and decor is a fresh take on stuffy high end salons. THROUGH GIVING THEM MY BUSINESS – I've been ambivalent toward Habitude for some time now. The staff is pleasant, but turn over is high. What's even higher are the prices! Aveda's great but you can get Aveda elsewhere in the city. The deciding factor for me was the article I read in The Stranger about the owners of the salon. Digging out pathways on property that isn't theirs and damaging land that Blue Heron's use is not something I want to support. Look it up on The Strangers website under the title "Trailblazer".
Constant Turn Over – I love Aveda products and I have tried to like the Habitude Salon at the Locks because I'm close to Ballard and would like to support a local business. However, after frequenting the Fremont Salon for two years I tried the Ballard location again when my stylist at Fremont left and encountered the same problem that caused me to leave before - constant turn over in staff. Love their products, but hate the noise – I come to Habitude for pedicures, massages, and haircuts as I live in Ballard. I think it's a great salon. The customer service is subpar, but I've received some great massages and pedicures here! The only problem is the noise upstairs. There are signs all over that say, "quiet please, pampering in progress" but it sure as hell ain't quiet. I am a quiet person as it is, so when I go to a spa I want complete silence and relaxation. Amazing service. – First, I am a HUGE Aveda fan. I love the products. I have been to many salons, and this (today) was my first time at Habitude. I went for wax (facial hair is not attractive) and a hair trim. The outside appearance of the salon/spa was well-kept, well lit, and well signed. I arrived at 7:30 when my appointment was, and I can see that if I had booked earlier in the day, traffic wouldn't have been as accommodating, so I would recommend arriving early to find parking anytime you go (you only need 10 minutes or... read more
Bad Cuts, Bad Coloring, Bad service – It?s been almost a year since my summer of paying $$$ to look beautiful and I am STILL waiting for the mistakes made by Habitude stylists to grow out. I went in for a coloring, but the guy urged me to let him do some cutting that would look "fabulous."
