About this business
Doug and Vickie Hardy have taken over Haar's Auction along with Connie and Al Darbrow and Sandra Haar effective March 1, 2003. Our grandfather Vance Haar started the auction business in the 1940's traveling around picking up and selling merchandise for people. His son George Haar joined him upon return of the military. In 1972 Vance Haar passed away leaving his legacy to his 4 children George, Boyd, Elwood and Claribel. They incorporated in 1974. Haar's Drive-In brings back some of the warmest most nostalgic memories for me, that I’ve ever had. Going to the drive-In was always such a treat. The first time I visited Haar's I was blown away. I felt transported back in time. The oldies music, cartoons, the snack bar and French fries, families playing catch and so much more. We have been going to Haars since we got married and moved to Dillsburg in1981 it was family time when the kids started being born we d pack up the portable crib and off to the movies:) we d go early break out the hockey sticks and play until movie started thanks 4 the memories:)oh now the kids are grown looking forward to date night with my man:)
Love this place!! I remember coming here in my jammies when I was little! Now my girls get to have the same experience♥ tho a bathroom up grade would rock ;)
From spending my younger years going here with friends and family. Then to working in the kitchen there is no better Drive Inn/ auction. Everyone that goes is treated like family!!!! I still go and see the pictures on the walls. History and friends is what you will find here.... Love this place and the people behind the scenes.
