This is a wonderful watering hole to hit before or after a movie. Guapo's Restaurant is down the street from several theaters. On warm summer nights, patrons pack the outdoor tables, drink margaritas and feast on classic Mexican fare. Guapo's goes beyond the more common favorites of tacos and burritos with delicate ceviche, grilled quail and fresh fish dishes. To complement these, you have luscious wines and cocktails. And not to forget, the simply irresistible desserts!

Very good food, service, and prices My coworkers and I have gone to this Mexican restaurant for lunches multiple times. The food, service, and prices have always been very good. We even held a party here for my entire company of about 100 employees in the upstairs area of the restaurant, and the staff was very communicative and helpful the entire time. They kept walking up to me to give me updates about food availability, technical equipment, etc. so that my event would be successful.
Restaurant is on the dirty and unsanitary side. Don't feel comfortable eating there. The Rio location is much better but on certain nights there seems to be a seedy element hanging out. Only go during the day light hours.
Quick and good Mexican food remains the same pretty much wherever you go. However, Guapo's is conveniently located right next to the Tenleytown metro stop and is great for take-out on days when you need a quick Mexican fix. They have an outdoor eating area which is perfect for a sunny day. A definitely must eat at place if in the area.
