Mt Horeb itself is such an amazing town, and the Grumpy Troll is a cornerstone piece of it. Their beer is fantastic, but even if you don't want alcohol, try their homemade root beer. the food is fresh, tasty, and "sticks to your ribs". With the current covid situation, the entire staff is working hard to keep all patrons safe, with tables spread out far, and ALL staff, even in the kitchen, properly wearing masks. This is one of three restaurants I have felt safe dining in at in the last few months. Top notch!
the beer cheese soup alone is worth the trip. the red and troll fest were tasty but nothing to write home about. the service was quite slow though
We ate outside and it was a bit chilly but the wait staff was outstanding. I had Salmon with artichoke and thoroughly enjoyed it.
