With legends like Frank Sinatra and Robert De Niro having frequented this place, Grotta has always been one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. The 'Blue Grotto' disappeared for six years since its opening over a century ago, however it reopened with renewed vigor again to much fanfare. The multi-level eatery still retains some historic features like the marble and mosaic floors; and its vintage mahogany bar and wine cave stack about 1,600 bottles.

We went to Little Italy hoping to find authentic Italian food at a reasonable and we hit a home run!! We had 4 different meals and each one was fantastic. The waiter, Anthony, was efficient and friendly, and was able to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend Grotta Azzura Ristorante!!!
